The Neutron Science Laboratory is dedicated to advancing the fundamental understanding and applications of neutrons science, particularly the development of radiation detection materials, devices, and systems. The lab space is equipped with DD and DT neutron generators, a variety of standard advanced radiation detectors and a range of nuclear electronics. Significant modeling and simulation capabilities using Geant4 and MCNP are available.
The Neutron Science Laboratory is undergoing major renovation which includes reconfiguration of shielding, decommissioning of the D711 CW neutron generator, and commissioning of the new P211 pulsed DT neutron generator. The renovation is expected to be complete by summer of 2017.
